New GR Yaris: Rapid FR + TPM combo enhances power and fun!
The latest episode in the Toyota Gazoo Racing saga, the magnificent new GR Yaris, is taking off all over the world. Given the impossibility of optimizing this cult car from the OBDII socket or by intervening directly on the stock engine control unit, Rapid plug & play solutions are even more desirable by tuners and enthusiasts.
It has been word-of-mouth for months: the top model of the new Yaris range, the GR Yaris is the special car in which the design and construction skills of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing and WRC partner Tommi Mäkinen Racing have converged. Launched in the second half of 2020, Toyota's second global GR model after the GR Supra has been selling like hot cakes - all of which have been sold.
After announcing the development work at the beginning of February, today Dimsport is proud to offer the public the combination of Rapid TPM (module for increasing engine performance) + Rapid FR (module for customizing driving style by modifying the accelerator pedal sensitivity).
293 CV with Rapid TPM!
The development work on this astonishing car has been exciting.
Knowing the sensitivity of the electronics of this small rocket, we used 100 octane petrol, obtaining confirmation on our power test bench of the data declared by the manufacturer (261 HP and 360 Nm according to Toyota; 262 HP and 373 Nm on our Dynorace A2ction). After installing and calibrating the Rapid TPM module, we obtained 293 HP and 420 Nm (+ 12%): the curve shows the linearity of the delivery, with no gaps at any point.
Rapid TPM wiring is plug & play and connects to the rpm sensor, turbo pressure sensor and manifold sensor, all easily accessible. Calibration was done with Rapid Management software working with the full set of parameters on the dynamometer and on the road.
Switch on/off from the passenger compartment
Rapid TPM intervention can be conveniently switched off and on again from the passenger compartment thanks to the wireless remote control, available as an option.
Rapid FR e FRB available now!
Increasing power and torque with the Rapid TPM module is not the only news available.The possibility to change the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal can be added too without any problem: Rapid FR allows you to customize your driving style with four modes for seven steps each.
The FRB version, equipped with bluetooth, allows you to manage the module from your smartphone even more comfortably with the free app, as well as adding the PEDAL LOCK function: an extra security to protect your beloved GR!
